Wonderful book for kids。 The followup to the gruffalo is again a simple story for them to follow but still good。 The art is excellent。 Great fun。

The Gruffalo is a favourite of the children's and The Gruffalo's Child is just as loved。 The story is similar to the original story but this time the Gruffalo's daughter is trying to find out if the Big Bad Mouse exists。 As one of the children said "she's on an adventure!" The children love this book。 They know exactly what is going to happen as they've heard it so many times before but that doesn't take away from the excitement they have each time we read it。 They like to join in and guess what The Gruffalo is a favourite of the children's and The Gruffalo's Child is just as loved。 The story is similar to the original story but this time the Gruffalo's daughter is trying to find out if the Big Bad Mouse exists。 As one of the children said "she's on an adventure!" The illustrations are lovely with a snowy woodland theme and of course all of the brilliant animals we recognise from the first book。 We love this story and read it time and time again。 Julia Donaldson's books are some of our favourite books both for the children listening and the adults reading。 A classic story everyone will love! 。。。more

This little story is even cutter than the first one, The Grufflo。 I almost know it by heart and I love the fact that the gruffalo's child is a girl! How cute is that? This is an odd choice。 The Gruffalo has a child, and he tells her about the big scary mouse in the woods。 The child sneaks out at night and meets the other animal from the first book, who are still afraid of the mouse。 Then little Gruffalo meets the mouse, who's not big or scary, so she decides to eat him。 So the mouse tricks her, scaring her, and sending her home。 Told in rhyme。 I mean, who are we rooting for? My youngest bought me the Gruffalo book which I read a few years ago and absolutely loved it!Now with this continuation story, Gruffalo has a daughter but the mouse has done it again。 Worked his way around a disaster using his wily ways。 The rhymes were really funny and cute!I have the boardbook version of this story so I guess I will not be so worried to share this classic story with my grandkids ( the ones with the grubby hands!)。Go soak yrself up in this book and enjoy the illustrations with My youngest bought me the Gruffalo book which I read a few years ago and absolutely loved it!Now with this continuation story, Gruffalo has a daughter but the mouse has done it again。 Worked his way around a disaster using his wily ways。 The rhymes were really funny and cute!I have the boardbook version of this story so I guess I will not be so worried to share this classic story with my grandkids ( the ones with the grubby hands!)。Go soak yrself up in this book and enjoy the illustrations with vivid colors。 。。。more

This book, while still an interesting story, doesn't quite have the same ability to capture my daughter's interest like the original does。 Having said that, the illustrations have some charming details, like the mouse making a snow-gruffalo, and the gruffalo's child doing a cave painting of the big bad mouse。 This book, while still an interesting story, doesn't quite have the same ability to capture my daughter's interest like the original does。 Having said that, the illustrations have some charming details, like the mouse making a snow-gruffalo, and the gruffalo's child doing a cave painting of the big bad mouse。 。。。more

I actually preferred the Gruffalo's Child to the Gruffalo。 As ever, Julia Donaldson's rhymes and verse are spot on, the mouse teaches that important lesson of brain over brawn, but it's the Gruffalo's child who warms my heart。 She's so curious, she's heard tales of the Big Bad Mouse and wants to know if the stories are true。 Is there a monster lurking in the woods? There's something about the monster searching for a monster that's quite satisfying。 I actually preferred the Gruffalo's Child to the Gruffalo。 As ever, Julia Donaldson's rhymes and verse are spot on, the mouse teaches that important lesson of brain over brawn, but it's the Gruffalo's child who warms my heart。 She's so curious, she's heard tales of the Big Bad Mouse and wants to know if the stories are true。 Is there a monster lurking in the woods? Adorable book。 My kids love the first book, The Gruffalo。 This one, while not quite as popular in my house, is still amoung their favorites。 This is a follow-up to The Gruffalo。 It's about the gruffalo telling his child the story of the big bad mouse。 This book reads much like the first one。 Julia Donaldson is an extremely popular author in my house。 Her characters are fun and colorful and there's nothing too scary。 I have found that some popular stories involving monsters, or witches or the lik Adorable book。 My kids love the first book, The Gruffalo。 This one, while not quite as popular in my house, is still amoung their favorites。 This is a follow-up to The Gruffalo。 It's about the gruffalo telling his child the story of the big bad mouse。 This book reads much like the first one。 Julia Donaldson is an extremely popular author in my house。 Her characters are fun and colorful and there's nothing too scary。 I have found that some popular stories involving monsters, or witches or the like can be too intense for my sensitive younger child。 。。。more

Thanks to this book I became the Gruffalo and my son the little Gruffalo (in spanish, Gruffalito)。 I am only going to say that。Special Note: If you have the possibility, read The Gruffalo first (not this, the original book) to any child (your son, nephew, or any child with whom you want to share a moment full of smiles reading with passion)。 After a few days, read this one。 Then tell me。
